Hunting
is not a sport to me but a way of life. I have hunted for as
long as I can remember. Having started my youth in Iowa, I have
had the opportunity to hunt in many states. Having moved to
Utah 12 years ago really enhanced that opportunity. Even since
then I would be hard pressed to live on flat ground again. I
love the mountains and they are like a second home to me.
My
main passions are predator and bow hunting. Theres nothing like
it when you call your first coyote in, from then on, your hooked.
It seems like you never forget that first one. A good freind
of mine introduced me to bow hunting a few years back. Since
that time I haven't used a rifle to hunt big game. As soon as
my kids get old enough, they will be introduced into it as well.
I'm
a strong advocate of introducing youth into the hunting world.
The facts are that hunting is a dieing sport. All of us need
to get involved to keep it alive. There are many groups out
there that would just soon see us leave, so it's important to
get involved. Thats one reason why I became a certified Utah
State Hunter Safety Instuctor. So join an organization, club
or group like Predator Masters, but get involved. What you do
today can have a lasting impact.
