D. Livesay/Critr Gitr Pro Staff/Membership & Hunt Coordinator Robert
"Critr" Livesay I was born in a shack on a rocky Kentucky hill. Raised by wolves until I got a rifle, then shot the whole blamed pack. Been gettin' meaner ever since. Called
my first critter, a red fox in Illinois, about 1960, using a Johnny
Stewart electronic caller that played 45 rpm records. Whistled to get
it stopped at 8 paces, put crosshair between his eyes, and touched off
the 220 Swift, my first varmint rifle. Based on a Springfield 30-06
action, it had a marine practice 22 LR barrel screwed on it. With Hornady
SX bullets it, they squeezed down a thousandth of an inch as they entered
the barrel. Loaded up |

Known in AZ as "Critr" |
My first commercially built varmint rifle was a Remington 700 BDL in 22-250 with impressed checkering, topped with a Weaver V-8 scope. I still have it, and as long as it keeps shooting half-inch groups, expect to keep it front and center in my varmint armament. I have
killed many animals, including deer in various states, several elk,
and a desert bighorn sheep, but nothing matches the rush of a predator
coming in for the kill. |
Sometimes as: "The Boogieman Of The Mogollon Rim"

Sometimes as: "Desert Assassin" |
But Mostly just "Critr"
